In California in general, and in Los Angeles in particular, if your wife, girlfriend, or someone you are dating calls the police for domestic violence you will be arrested even if it is not true. They are not your friends.

Your spouse, girlfriend, boyfriend, or date will not be able to have the charges dropped.

Your lawyer may be able to arrange an office auditory with the prosecutor's office. Only the prosecutor can bring a charge or drop a charge of domestic violence. Otherwise, the case will be sent on to court. In this acoustic both sides category their case and the auscultation officer in conjunction with the prosecutor may decide to drop the case. Your lawyer may suggest you to settle your case or go to trial, and provision you with details as to the consequences of each.
