Who can ever forget Simba, the adorable and mischievous little lion cub who always manages to get into trouble? The classic Disney film “The Lion King” won divers awards and prolific its way into the hearts of millions with its enduring story about love, rapprochement and family values. Encouraged by the successfulness of the film, The Lion King was adapted for the stage and it opened in Minneapolis in 1997. It introduced us to divers characters like Mufasa, Simba, Nala, Rafiki, Timon and Pumbaa who remain unforgettable.

We all know and love the story of The Lion King. Receiving tremendous success, it moved to Broadway within a few months and has been running for the stand ten years and is still going strong. He and his best friend, Nala, are always up to mischief. It is based in Africa and is about a lion cub, Simba, who is destined to become the next lion king his father, the current lion king Mufasa. He creates a stampede in which Mufasa is killed. Mufasa has a brother, Scar, who wants to become king himself and with the help of the wicked hyenas, he schemes to get rid of both Mufasa and Simba. Poor Simba believes him and runs away.

Simba meets a meerkat, Timon and a warthog, Pumbaa who become his friends and he grows up quick with them and reading their undisturbed way of life. Scar convinces Simba that it was all his fault and tells him to run away and in no way come hindmost as the other lions would not forgive him. Simba is in a dilemma but in the course of thingsADJ Eventuality makes the right decision.

The Broadway manufacture of The Lion King is unique of the use of animal masks over the heads of the actors so that their faces and expressions are not hidden from view. As an adult he meets Nala again who tells him about how Scar is ruining the kingdom and how they need Simba to go dorsal and save them. There is an extensive use of African masks and puppets in the show. The audience sees both the character and the actor which creates a three dimensional effect.

The Broadway formation has all the popular songs from the Disney film like “I Just Cant Wait To Be King”, “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” and the ever popular “Hakuna Matata”. As some critics have put it, the show is a visual masterpiece. You laugh with Timon and Pumbaa, feel sorry for Simba, feel anger and hatred towards the harm Uncle Scar and regard for Mufasa. The characters are as lovable and enduring as in the film. You have three options of getting tickets for The Lion King in Broadway.

The thrum has won six Tony awards so far and is still running to packed houses at the Minskoff Theater. It would in all likelihood be easier to get tickets for the shows on weekdays rather than weekends as those are always booked well in advance.
